1. FULL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS FOR UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE STUDIES TENABLE AT TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN FIJI (2001 UPY STUDENTS NEED NOT APPLY)

Please read this carefully before requesting an Application Form

1. ELIGIBILITY

Applicants

·        Must be Samoan citizens residing and/or working permanently in Samoa;

·        Seeking to do undergraduate studies, must hold a minimum qualification of a certificate from a tertiary institution and/or two years minimum suitable work experience;

·        Area of study applied for cannot be undertaken in Samoa;

·        Should be under the age of 40 at January 2002. Applicants over this age may be considered on a case by case basis;

·        Must have a clean police record;

·        Must enter into a scholarship bond arrangement with the Government of Samoa which requires return to Samoa on completion/termination of studies;

·        Seeking to do postgraduate studies, must hold a first degree and be able to gain experience into USP plus two years minimum suitable work experience;

·        Must not have held a scholarship for overseas study in the 2 years prior to 1 January 2002

·        Must not hold another scholarship simultaneously with Samoa Government Scholarship;

2. ENTITLEMENT OF AWARD

·   Tuition Fees

·   Accommodation Allowance

·   Student stipend

·   Return air fare to Fiji during years on award

·   Book allowance

·   Medical fee

·  Student association fee

3. AREAS OF STUDY

Area of study applied cannot be undertaken by extension study at USP, Alafua or at any other local tertiary institution.
