A. PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS FOR UNDERGRADUATE AND POSTGRADUATE STUDIES TENABLE AT TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN AUSTRALIA

Please read this carefully before requesting an Application Form

1. ELIGIBILITY

Applicants:

§ Must hold dual citizenship (Samoa/ Australia only)

§ Must have undertaken all Secondary Schooling in Samoa

§ Must have parents or spouse residing and working permanently in Samoa

§ Seeking to commence or continue undergraduate studies, must obtain acceptance and an offer of place to study from a tertiary institution of own choice in Australia

§ Must provide evidence of support of study in Australia

§ Must have Area of Study applied for included in Priority Areas of Study

§ Seeking to commence or continue postgraduate studies, must obtain acceptance and an offer of place to study from a tertiary institution of own choice in Australia

§ Should be under the age of 4o as at 1 January 2002. Applicants over this age may be considered on a case by case basis

§ Must have a clean police record

§ Must be able to take up the scholarship in 2002

§ Seeking to commence postgraduate studies must hold a first degree plus two years minimum suitable work experience

§ Must not hold another scholarship simultaneously with Samoa Government Scholarship

§ Must enter into a scholarship bond arrangement with the Government of Samoa which requires return to Samoa on completion/termination of studies

2. ENTITLEMENTS OF PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

§ Tuition Fees per year

§ Book Allowance of AUD400 per year

§ Return air travel to Australia (beginning and the end of studies)

§ Accommodation assistance of AUD2, 000 per year

§ Extra tuition of AUD300 per year

§ Excess baggage allowance of AUD200 at completion of study

§ Information Technology (including Library Studies)

§ Corporate and Human Resource Management

§ Conservation and Environmental Studies

§ Tourism Studies
