This
week’s Samoalive Personality of the Week
is Mrs Annamma. P. Jacob who
retired from teaching at Samoa College at the end of 2000.. Mrs Jacob was
born on the 15th of September 1939, Anna resides at the village of
Vaivase-tai. Samoalive salutes Mrs Jacobs for her contribution of 25 years
service to education in Samoa
Mrs
Jacob was a teacher at Samoa College from June 1975 to December 2000. Mrs Jacob
was educated in India where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Education and a
Masters in Education. Mrs Jacobs became more than a teacher and was always
encouraging students to do their best. Although she is retiring, her husband and
daughter in law are still teaching at Samoa College and the National University
of Samoa.
Main
highlights of your career:
“Increased
pass rates in Geography and more students are interested in taking Geography”.
Many
of Mrs Jacob’s ex students are holding high positions in the country. “I am
happy to see my ex students becoming doctors, engineers, lawyers, accountants
and also teachers”.
