Year you were crowned Miss Samoa:
1994
Where was it held? : St Josephs
Hall Alafua You were sponsored by: Chan Mow & Company Ltd.
What were some of the highlights of
this evening as you saw it?
- Backstage friendliness, and all
around support from the girls competing
Did you dedicate this win to
someone? Who was it, and why? (Please don’t fill it in if you’re
not comfortable)
- I was actually thinking of all my
family, who pushed me to go through with it, mostly my mother who
was sick the night of the competition.
What were some of the highlights
during your reign? (list at least 3)
- Learning to relate better to people
and learning the importance of a woman’s role in the Samoan
culture
- Having the support of the Samoan
public at the Miss South Pacific
- Having the honour and pleasure of
working with wonderful people like Mrs Tommy Burr and the late Mr
Derek Godinet
Briefly describe your career path
after your reign as Miss Samoa.
- On Lily’s return from University
of Hawaii Hilo, she was given the opportunity to live and dance in
Japan for six months (one of her favorite pastimes). It was in Japan
that she met her childhood classmate who is now her husband.
Briefly tell us what you do at
present? (Business, studying etc..)
- A Financial Company (Federal
Pacific Finance Ltd) employs Lily as an Administration/Loans
officer.
What do you hope to achieve in the
next 5 years
Lili has a beautiful little girl who
is almost two years old, and says "If I can raise her as normal
and as comfortable as possible, (and any other little Lili’s that
come along) I will be happy"
What is your most valuable advice
to young Samoan women in today’s changing Samoan community?
- "Don’t put all your eggs
into one basket" The world is full different people and
different things to see. Don’t be limited by your surroundings.
Most importantly, don’t be afraid to always question things when
you don’t understand.
