Tusani
Simanu

This week’s Samoalive Personality of the Week is Tusani Faaolofala Reti Simanu. Born on the 14th of June 1938, Tusani is from the village of Savaia, Lefaga.
Tusani is currently the Deputy President of the Land and Titles Court in Apia.
He was educated at Savaia and Saleimoa elementary school. His secondary school years were in Avele Agricultural College and Teacher’s College.

highlights of your career:
· 1963-1970: Teacher at Primary and Junior High School
· 1971-1977: Head Teacher
· 1978-1980: Lecturer at Teacher’s College
· 1981-1985: School Inspector
· 1986-1993: Senior School Inspector
· 1994-1999: Samoan Judge
“I was involved in the Teachers Cultural Group from 1972 to 1994 as a conductor and instructor”.
Tusani is presently the Alii Matua of his village, Savaia Lefaga.
Where
to from here:
“To see that my children are able to cater for the future and live in peace and harmony and to enjoy the rest of my working career with Land and Titles Court until the day I retire”.
Tusani also stated that he wants to contribute to Samoa particularly in the field of traditional entertainment and culture.
